The service has been discontinued. We shut down our free web proxy (FREEPROXY / freewebproxy.vpntester.net) in 2024 – running an open proxy for other people’s traffic means being responsible for it, and the bandwidth and abuse-handling costs were too high for a hobby project.
What we recommend instead depends on what you used it for:
- Reading a blocked page without installing anything: the built-in proxy in the Opera browser.
- Protecting a device on public Wi-Fi or changing your location: a free VPN from an established provider – ProtonVPN Free (no data limit), PrivadoVPN or Windscribe (10 GB per month). See our comparison of free VPN services.
