Why this is coming up now
Google raised YouTube Premium prices across the board — by up to a third depending on the plan:
| Plan | before | now |
|---|---|---|
| Individual | €12.99 | €14.99 |
| Family (up to 5 people) | €23.99 | €27.99 |
| Premium Lite | €5.99 | €7.99 |
| Annual plan | €129.99 | €149.99 |
| Students | — | €8.99 |
One detail that is easy to miss: booking the family plan through the iOS app costs €31.99 instead of €27.99 — the difference is Apple’s App Store fee. Going through a browser or Android is cheaper.
How a shared family slot works
YouTube Premium Family covers up to six accounts under one subscription. Sharing platforms build on exactly that: someone books the family plan and passes on the free slots. You do not get access to a stranger’s account — you get your own slot with your own Google account. Your history, subscriptions and playlists stay yours.
On GamsGo it works like this: you buy a slot, receive an invitation to the family group, accept it with your Google account, and Premium is active.
What it costs
| per month | per year | |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Premium directly | €14.99 | €179.88 |
| Annual plan directly | €12.50 (calculated) | €149.99 |
| Shared slot on GamsGo | €3.92 | €47.04 |
Compared with the individual plan that is around €133 a year. Entering the code VPNTESTER at checkout takes a little more off.
What you accept in return
This is the part most coupon sites leave out:
- YouTube’s terms assume a shared household. Family members are meant to live at the same address. With a slot arranged through a platform they do not. Google does not check this continuously, but it can dissolve a group — and then the slot is gone.
- You are not the account holder. Whoever manages the group can remove members. Your own data stays with your Google account, but the Premium status depends on the group.
- Support sits with the platform, not with YouTube. If access stops working you contact GamsGo. Google is not responsible for the arrangement.
- It is a subscription, not a one-off purchase. It renews until you cancel.
If that is not for you, the regular family plan within your own household is the better deal: €27.99 split across up to six people is about €4.67 each — close to the sharing price, without the uncertainty.
Step by step
- On GamsGo choose YouTube Premium and pick a term — longer terms lower the monthly price.
- Enter the code VPNTESTER at checkout.
- Wait for the family group invitation; it goes to the address you registered.
- Accept it with your own Google account — not a freshly created second account, or you lose your history and subscriptions.
- Check in the YouTube app that Premium is active: profile picture → “Your benefits”.
Frequently asked questions
Do my subscriptions and playlists survive?
Yes. You use your own Google account; it is simply added to the family group.
Is YouTube Music included?
Yes, YouTube Music Premium is part of YouTube Premium and comes with it.
Does it work on a TV?
Yes, Premium is tied to the account, not the device.
What if the group is dissolved?
Premium status ends. GamsGo provides a replacement slot in such cases — which is the actual reason to buy through a platform rather than from a classified ad.
Do I need a VPN for this?
No. A family slot does not require one, and we explicitly advise against combining shared accounts with changing country locations — that draws attention rather than avoiding it.
Other platforms
GamsGo is not the only provider of shared subscriptions. Spliiit, Sharesub, GoSplit and CooSub work along similar lines but differ in price, catalogue and legal framing. Our comparison is here, and the full list of services available on GamsGo with prices is in our service overview.
