Anyone looking for an alternative to GamsGo usually has one of three reasons: the service they want is not on offer there, an access failed once – or the question of where their data and money go cannot be answered satisfactorily with a provider outside the EU. There are solutions for all three cases, and they differ more than they appear to at first glance. We looked at the four serious alternatives – CooSub, Spliiit, Sharesub and GoSplit – and sort out who each platform is right for.

Two models you should not confuse
The most important difference between the providers appears in no advertisement, but it decides what you are letting yourself in for.
Model 1 – the platform owns the account. GamsGo and CooSub work this way: the platform maintains family or multi-user plans and sells seats in them. You get ready-made access, do not have to organise anything and pay only your share. That is convenient and cheap. The price: you have no contractual relationship with the actual streaming provider and depend on the platform keeping the access alive.
Model 2 – the marketplace. Spliiit, Sharesub and GoSplit broker between private people: someone has a family plan with free seats and offers one, you book it. The platform only handles payment and disputes and charges a fee per booking. The advantage: it is traceable who is behind the plan, and at Spliiit and Sharesub the whole thing runs under European law. The disadvantage: it is dearer, and whether a seat is available depends on whether someone happens to be offering one.
In short: if price and choice matter most, the platform model wins. If traceability, European data protection and an orderly dispute process matter, the marketplace is the better choice.
The alternatives one by one
Spliiit – the European alternative with the best legal framework
Spliiit comes from France, has been on the market since 2019 and is regarded as the pioneer of subscription sharing in Europe. The platform brokers more than 300 services, handles payments through a regulated payment institution and is fully subject to the GDPR. If you think sharing subscriptions is a good idea in principle but do not want an account with a provider outside the EU, this is the cleanest solution. You pay your share of the plan plus a brokerage fee of roughly €0.75 to €0.99 plus five per cent. That makes Spliiit noticeably dearer than GamsGo – you are paying for legal certainty here, not for the lowest price.

Sharesub – the widest choice, at the highest price
Sharesub is also based in France and works on the same marketplace principle as Spliiit. With more than 600 active listings it has the widest choice in the field, reaching beyond streaming to office software, games and household services. The catch is the price: for comparable services Sharesub sits clearly above GamsGo, in some cases several times over. If you are looking for a very specific service that nobody else brokers, this is where you are most likely to find it – for standard subscriptions the premium rarely pays.

GoSplit – marketplace model without the European legal framework
GoSplit is based in Hong Kong and works as a marketplace – and thereby combines, of all things, the disadvantages of both models: you pay a marketplace’s brokerage fee without getting the European legal framework that Spliiit and Sharesub bring. The catalogue of around 170 listings is modest. Also notable are the contractual penalties for offerers when an access fails. In theory that keeps quality high, but it also deters serious offerers. User ratings are noticeably weaker than for the European competition.
- For: health and gaming categories too; marketplace with visible offerers.
- Against: outside the EU despite marketplace fees; smaller catalogue; weaker ratings; support regarded as slow.
CooSub – the same model as GamsGo, only smaller
CooSub works on the same principle as GamsGo: the platform provides the accounts, you book a seat in them. The focus is clearly on classic streaming – Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+, Spotify. AI services and software are barely represented. As a direct alternative CooSub comes into question mainly when a particular streaming service is temporarily unavailable at GamsGo or happens to be cheaper there. A structural advantage over GamsGo is not apparent – the platform is younger, the catalogue narrower.
- For: prices on a similar level to GamsGo; good fallback for mainstream streaming services.
- Against: much smaller catalogue; hardly any AI or software services; also outside the EU.

What to bear in mind on every platform
- The service’s terms of use count. Whether a family plan may be shared outside your own household is decided by each provider. Some allow it expressly, others restrict it. Sharing is not a criminal offence – in the worst case the account concerned is suspended.
- Never reuse your own credentials. Always a separate password for shared accounts, used nowhere else. That applies both ways – as a user and as an offerer of a seat.
- Never pay outside the platform. Anyone who wants to route you past the marketplace by direct transfer is bypassing exactly the protection you pay the fee for.
- Check regional locks. Some shared accesses are tied to a particular country. Without a matching location the service will not work – a VPN with servers in the right country helps here.
Verdict: it depends on what matters more to you
On price and range GamsGo stays ahead. More than a hundred services, no fee on top and, as the only platform, a genuinely broad line-up of AI services – no competitor offers that combination at present. On the legal framework Spliiit is ahead, and clearly so. For a single mainstream subscription CooSub is a usable fallback; Sharesub is for niche services; GoSplit we would only choose if neither of the others has what you need.
